Where to pray

Though the ideal is to find a quiet place where you can close your eyes during prayer, this isn’t always possible, especially on the street or at the market place.

So you should learn how to pray while still carefully driving, for instance, or doing your work. The most important thing is the ability to focus your mind and heart on God while your body can do something else at the same time.

It’s like someone walking on the road while talking with someone else on the phone.

Jesus Christ followed the practices of the Jews according to the religious laws in the Old Testament. He regularly attended jewish religious places such as the Temple, synagogues (Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16) ; and prayed likewise at home and on mountains during the nights (Mark 6:46).

You can find how Jesus prayed while He was at Getshemane in Matt 26:39-41 . See also the evening prayer of the Passover, which took place in the upper room, as described by Luke 14:17-26.

In addition to that, Jesus also prayed in the desert (Mark 1:12) and in the mountains, when He wanted to be alone.

In Luke 6:12, Jesus prayed on a mountain before choosing the twelve disciples and preaching the beautitudes (sermon on the mount).

We can see that Jesus prayed almost everywhere, but the Savior of the world preferred monastic and silent places.
